The VGS Co Team WELCOME you to our site !

Valley Gunsmithing was formed in 1992 by Jeff Smith while in Edmonton Alberta. VGS Co. Moved to Petawawa Ontario in 1997 where it still is today.

Jeff sends a special thanks to long time good friend Master Gunsmith Ernest MacKenzie whom he spent many a night with learning how to break into the trade at Ernie's shop. Jeff would also like to mention good friends Vladimir Hanus, Steve Jones ,Ken Whittnal & Clay Brundridge who also all had a great influence in Jeff's start into Gunsmithing trade. Jeff is an accredited Gunsmith , member of the American Gunsmith's Association & 7 years with the Ontario Gunsmith's association until it dissolved in 2003.

Jeff is a Graduate of the REMINGTON Law Enforcement Armorers School, located at the REMINGTON Factory in Illion NY, U.S.A He is a Member of The Royal Canadian Regiment Association, and a Life member of The Canadian Airborne Regiment Association.

A Bit about Jeff, He joined the Canadian Forces in 1984 as an Infantry Soldier and served with The Royal Canadian Regiment, The Canadian Airborne Regiment's Third Commando, The Canadian Airborne Center Parachute Training Wing as an Instructor ,The Canadian Forces Parachute Team "The Skyhawks" as an Instructor & PR NCO , the 3rd Battalion (Light Infantry) of The Royal Canadian Regiment as well as another obscure "Training" unit outside of Ottawa to name a few. Jeff has accumulated over 1200 Parachute decents both Static Line & Free Fall , 13 malfunctions & cutaways and has broke more bones than a crash test dummy.He has been on Operational taskings in places like Europe, Bosnia, Cyprus, and elsewhere. Jeff is Advanced qualified with a variety of small, medium and heavy weapons systems, his love of firearms and shooting sports was the main reason he became a qualified Gunsmith

Jeff Smith is a fully licensed Gunsmith, licensed for both Military & Police contracts and specializes in Sniper systems and special operations weapons systems for Law enforcement. He is listed by the Department of National Defence as an official Military Supplier of goods & services.

He is also known for his work from coast to coast by building custom target rifles & repairing hunting & sporting firearms.

His gunsmith shop is fully equipped to handle any job, big or small, Mil Spec Parkerizing of handguns to M-2 .50 HMGs! Rebarreling of rifles, or hand carving a custom stock for your favorite hunting or target rifle. Glass bedding your action, scope mounting and manufacturing of hard to find or obsolete parts.

If you are full time active duty Military, Police or a Miltary or Police Unit , you could be eligible for special VGS Co.Gunsmithing rates.
